"Everyone has a preconceived idea of my nationality. Italians consider me “The American.” The Americans call me “The Italian.” And Russians? They frequently stop me on the street, convinced I’m one of them until I reply back in Italian, a good laugh for us all."
I was born in Los Angeles to my American mother, a former top model, and my Ligurian father, a businessman in the marine industry. I’m a native speaker in both languages and grew up an only child in the charming seaside village of Lerici, La Spezia, near UNESCO’s Cinque Terre region. Throughout the ages, the mesmerizing Gulf of Poets was an inspiration to numerous great writers, poets, and artists such as; Dante, Petrarch, Botticelli, Lord Byron, Virginia Woolf, and Shelly, to name a few.
My parents spent years painstakingly rebuilding our home, a 500-year-old stone relic, which once served as the village bakery overlooking the stunning bay. Our family catches their fish, harvests, and bottles olive oil, and makes delicious jams from our garden. Friends say the best restaurant in the neighborhood is our house, and they are right! Enjoying expansive Italian meals and swimming in the surrounding coves are some of my best childhood memories.
As a toddler, I wasn’t tall enough to reach the kitchen counter. Nevertheless, my mother pulled up a chair, and I helped her make homemade pasta and ravioli. I knew how to use a pasta machine before I could ride a bike.
My fascination with acting started with my first trip to the theatre. Amazed by the lights and stage, I decided my place was amongst the actors under the spotlights. I escaped from my seat, and leaped onto the stage, ignoring my parents' objections. This spectacle was quite amusing for the audience, watching my poor mother, mortified, drag me off the stage as I wildly protested.
Sports are a significant part of my life. From Epeé fencing to scuba diving, I love to stay active and immerse myself in nature. During winters, I trained with my competitive ski team in Slalom and Super G races in the Alps, and when the snow melts, I get an adrenaline rush climbing the vertical cliffs of the Via Ferrate in the Dolomites.
My five years spent at Lorenzo Costa Classic Studies High School in La Spezia were fascinating and intense; Latin, Greek, History, Philosophy and studying Dante’s Divine Comedy in-depth, gave me valuable insight helping to form me as an individual. At sixteen, my dream of living the American experience finally came true. I transferred to Pennsylvania as a senior and graduated from Quakertown Community High School, a fantastic experience.
Upon returning to Italy and catching up with my classmates, I completed my Italian Maturità diploma a year later. Soon after, I moved to London and received my BA Honours degree in TV Production from The University of Westminster. It was hectic and challenging but ultimately a rewarding period.
My quest for work in front of the camera is continuous, with my schooling completed, my focus is dedicated to acting. I spend my time between London and Italy and I’m represented by The Zoë Nathenson Agency in the UK and by Black&White Managment in Rome.
